Privacy Policy for Reconnect: Keep in Touch
Effective Date: May 5, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Reconnect: Keep in Touch ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our mobile application.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
Reconnect is built with privacy in mind. Most of your personal data is stored on your device and in your private Apple iCloud account.
- Contacts: Reconnect may request access to your device contacts so you can import people and set relationship reminders.
- Journal Entries, Photos, To-Dos, and Relationship Notes: Text, mood data, photos, reminders, and notes you add in the app are stored locally and synced through Apple iCloud if enabled.
- iCloud Syncing: App data may be synced using Apple iCloud / CloudKit so it is backed up and available across your Apple devices. This data is stored in your private iCloud database. We do not have access to your private iCloud account or iCloud files.
- Sign in with Apple: Premium AI features may require Sign in with Apple. When you sign in, Apple provides us with a unique Apple user identifier and authentication token so we can securely verify your session. We do not receive your Apple password.
- AI Recommendations: If you use optional AI recommendation features, selected contact context, relationship notes, recent journal snippets, to-dos, and similar app content may be sent securely to our backend server to generate personalized suggestions. This data is used only to provide the requested AI recommendation. Our backend forwards the necessary prompt data to OpenAI for generating the recommendation. We configure OpenAI requests with storage disabled where supported. We do not sell this data.
- Payment Information: Subscriptions and in-app purchases are handled exclusively by Apple via StoreKit. We do not collect or store your credit card or billing information.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following services:
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit: Used for private data storage and syncing across your Apple devices.
- Sign in with Apple: Used for secure account authentication.
- OpenAI: Used to generate optional AI-powered relationship recommendations.
- Google AdMob: Used to serve advertisements in the free version of the app. Google may collect device identifiers, including IDFA if permitted, to provide ads. Ads are disabled for Premium users.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Most app data is stored on your device and in your private iCloud account. You can delete contacts, journal entries, photos, and to-dos directly in the app. Authentication data for Sign in with Apple is used to maintain your secure session. You can sign out in the app. AI recommendation requests are processed to provide the feature. We do not maintain a separate long-term user profile from your AI prompts. You can delete app data by deleting content in the app, uninstalling the app, and managing iCloud storage in your iOS settings.
5. Your GDPR Rights
As a developer based in Austria / the European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. Because most app data is stored locally and in your private iCloud account, you can manage or delete much of your data directly on your device and through Apple iCloud settings. For questions or requests related to backend authentication or AI processing, contact us using the email below.
